Who Was Mary Polk?
A road name in Justin may be holding a piece of our town’s earliest history. Just south of Bishop Park, land once known as the Mary Polk Survey stretched across an area that today includes Mary Polk Road. But who was Mary Polk? Our research has uncovered two possible candidates—Mary Polk Hardeman and Mary Polk Bryan—but so far, neither can be definitively connected to the land.
